6 Degrees of Separation: From Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret to The Muddleheaded Wombat premium
Welcome back to 6 Degrees of Separation, which is usually on the first Saturday of the month—except when I completely forget about it! And this was one month I didn’t want to skip because the starting book is one that meant a great deal to me when I was a young teenager: Are You there […]

6 Degrees of Separation: From No Friend But the Mountains to Hero on a Bicycle premium
Welcome back to Six Degrees of Separation, my monthly bit of bookish fun, where Kate from booksaremyfavouriteandbest gives us a starting book and we link it to six other titles in any way our mind decides to make connections. This month, we’re actually beginning with a wild card, meaning we begin where we ended in […]

6 Degrees of Separation: From How to Do Nothing to The History of Mischief premium
Welcome to this month’s Six Degrees of Separation. For anyone interested in history,  the term ‘six degrees of separation’ was originally inspired by Hungarian writer and poet Frigyes Karinthy, who coined the phrase in his 1929 short story ‘Chains‘. It’s the idea that everyone in the world is separated from everyone else by just six connections. Weird and Wonderful Words #1 premium
I don’t have many games on my phone. Actually, I only have one: Words with Friends. Initially, it was a way of keeping in touch with a dear friend who moved to the opposite side of the country. Then I began playing one of my neighbours. I don’t usually play random strangers, but I have […]

Claire Malone Changes the World: In Conversation with Nadia L. King premium
I first met Nadia L. King a number of years ago, introduced by a mutual friend in a Leederville coffee shop. It was shortly after Nadia decided to face her fears by picking up a pen to write—and she hasn’t looked back! Since then Nadia has published Jenna’s Truth (a story about cyberbullying for young […]
