Crime Writing and Flawed Heroes: In Conversation with Michael Trant premium
I first met author Michael Trant through Twitter in the years before it became a bin fire and changed its name, when a group of us were waking up to write at 5 am. I don’t think any of us are actually at our desk that early in the morning these days, but we still […]

Oral Histories: Tips for Recording a Life premium
I recently listened to a conversation between Krista Tippett and Rachel Naomi Remen (and which Tippett expands on in her book Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Loiving) in which they discuss the idea of ‘generous listening’, which is ‘powered by curiosity’ and ‘involves a kind of vulnerability’. I think this is […]

Podcasts Worth Listening To: Books and Writing premium
Do you have favourite podcasts you subscribe to and listen to regularly, or do you stumble across individual episodes somewhat by random. I often discover new podcasts when a fellow writer posts a link to a conversation about their new book and/or writing process or bookish friends share an interview with the author of a […]

Hi Adele, thanks for reading! Thanks for the Twelve Moons recommendation too. Your chain was very interesting too. The only one I had read was Looking for Alibrandi, but I would love to have seen Peach Season by Debra Oswald performed on stage. (If anyone else would like to see Adele's chain you can find it over on her blog: https://adeleboundinbooks.blog/2025/10/05/6-degrees-of-separation-2025-october-4/).
In 6 Degrees of Separation: From I Want Everything to Devotions
An interesting chain. I haven't read any of these books, but I have read another of Mary Oliver's collections, 'Twelve Moons', which I enjoyed quite a lot. (Adele Bound in Books)
In 6 Degrees of Separation: From I Want Everything to Devotions
Hi Davida, thanks for taking the time to check out my chain. I also really liked your chain (for anyone reading this comment thread, you can find Davida's 6 Degrees of Separation post here: https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2025/10/04/tcls-6degrees-of-separation-for-october-4-2025/). I'm particularly drawn to Two Wars and a Wedding by Lauren Willig, and I have a couple of fellow historical fiction readers, who might also be interested.
