Family History: The Story Starts With You premium
Have you thought about compiling a family history but don’t know where to start? Writers are often advised to write what they know or are curious about. Not everyone agrees with this, but perhaps there’s some wisdom in it, or in the case of family history, start with yourself (the person in your family tree […]

Ghosts of Christmases Past: Prompts for Memoirists and Family Historians premium
How do you feel about Christmas? For some people, Christmas beings great joy and anticipation. They can’t wait to decorate the tree, string the lights and hit play on the Christmas music. For others, it stirs up painful memories, perhaps of family conflict, or loss and grief. And for some, Christmas is just not part […]

Pieces: In Conversation with Monique Wilson premium
In August of this year, I took my daughter to Cinefest Oz in Busselton, an annual celebration of Australian film making. It was both an opportunity to spend time together and the chance for her to support some of her acting mates, who had recently landed roles in a couple of feature films. One of […]

22 Things in 2022 (and Setting Goals in Times of Uncertainty) premium
While I haven’t made New Year’s resolutions for years, I have created lists such as 19 Things to do in 2019, or selected words to reflect my focus for the following twelve months. However, with so much uncertainty still surrounding us as we step in 2022, it feels somewhat counterintuitive to make plans or create […]

Hi Adele, thanks for reading! Thanks for the Twelve Moons recommendation too. Your chain was very interesting too. The only one I had read was Looking for Alibrandi, but I would love to have seen Peach Season by Debra Oswald performed on stage. (If anyone else would like to see Adele's chain you can find it over on her blog: https://adeleboundinbooks.blog/2025/10/05/6-degrees-of-separation-2025-october-4/).
In 6 Degrees of Separation: From I Want Everything to Devotions
An interesting chain. I haven't read any of these books, but I have read another of Mary Oliver's collections, 'Twelve Moons', which I enjoyed quite a lot. (Adele Bound in Books)
In 6 Degrees of Separation: From I Want Everything to Devotions
Hi Davida, thanks for taking the time to check out my chain. I also really liked your chain (for anyone reading this comment thread, you can find Davida's 6 Degrees of Separation post here: https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2025/10/04/tcls-6degrees-of-separation-for-october-4-2025/). I'm particularly drawn to Two Wars and a Wedding by Lauren Willig, and I have a couple of fellow historical fiction readers, who might also be interested.
